The return of live horse racing at the Ruidoso Downs Racetrack and Casino also brings the return of live music to the race track. Once again the Track hosts their annual Summer Concert Series. Each season, top music entertainers and artists from around the country perform during the summer racing season, and the 2008 concert line up promises to be the best yet!

The concert series kicks off on Saturday, May 24th at 8:00 PM with live music from Marty Stuart and his band! Marty Stuart is country music‚s renaissance man scoring six top-ten hits, one platinum and five gold albums, and four Grammy Awards. But his success proves the difficulty of gauging a career in charts alone. He has made lasting music as a front man and in collaboration with virtually every major roots music figure of his era, from Lester Flatt to Bob Dylan and Stuart has produced records for some of the most distinguished artists working today as well as many famous names have chosen to record his songs. Lonestar - Saturday July 5th, 2008
The concert series continues on Saturday, July 7 with Lonestar Live in Concert at 8:00 PM. Though their name might lead you to believe that Lonestar was formed in Texas, the quintet actually hails from Tennessee. Originally called Texassee, the band features Richie McDonald on lead vocals and guitar, John Rich on lead vocals and bass, Michael Britt on lead guitar and background vocals, Dean Sams plays keyboard and sings background vocals and Keech Rainwater on drums. All the members are in fact Texas natives -- they just formed in Tennessee in 1992! "Tequila Talkin'", "Crazy Nights", "Amazed" and many more hits!
