GoRuidoso's Showcase Artists
Julia Hope Price • Alto, New Mexico
"Living in New Mexico the past few years, I've begun painting longhorns as well. I find that each one has such a distinct personality and coloring and an absolutely unique look. The shape of their horns is as individual as they are, and provide great opportunities to introduce a sense of drama and some interesting angles into the paintings.
I'm grateful that I've had the opportunity to study with some world class painters over the years. At the Academy of Fine Arts, I worked with acclaimed New Orleans landscape/figure painter Dell Weller. I have also studied with David Leffel, Kim English, and Richard Schmid. |

I've exhibited in more than 200 group and solo shows since 1982. My paintings have been accepted for exhibition in several museum shows, and are well represented in significant private collections in the United States and abroad. I've been fortunate to receive several national and international awards, including the Eclipse Medallion Award at an international show in Vancouver, Canada, and Best of Show among Southern Representational Painters in Atlanta."
