RUIDOSO CARVERS CHALLENGE
JUNE 17 19TH
This years Bear Carving Challenge is going to be more exciting than ever and you can participate!
The Lincoln County Lodgers Association has teamed up with the Make A Wish Foundation, www.goruidoso.com and Rob at Grizzlys to make the fourth annual competition bigger than ever. If you attended last years event you will remember how Mountain Cool the carving competition is.
As an added attraction this year we have incorporated the Carvers Safari to allow visitors and locals alike to join in the fun. This is how it works:
Sponsoring businesses will have a carving done right on their property on Thursday, June 17th or early Friday the 18th. (optionally pre-carved pieces will be offered in case of space limitations or other considerations, as well the size of the carvings will be determined based on your space availability) On Friday afternoon you get to name the piece and hang a sign with the name on the piece (we will provide a blank sign that you will enter the name onto). Participants will purchase a Safari Map at the event venue that will indicate which businesses have a carving and where these businesses are located. The participants will find their way to these locations and write the name of the piece on the map next to the appropriate business name. Once the map is accurately completed the contestants will hand these in and the maps will be placed into a draw barrel. Sunday, noon, the drawings will take place and the pieces will be given away to the contestants drawn.
The cost to the businesses participating is $150.
If you would like to get involved in the fun, and boost your exposure to visitors, please respond to chuckd@zianet.com or call 257-4311 and we will drop by and get you set up.
Time and available carvings are limited so please respond as soon as possible.
On behalf of the kids at Make A Wish I thank you!
